Inspired by the ancient Chinese poets, who wrote direct, casual verse to poet-friends, this book of eight-line poems sketches poets the author has known. Subjects range from notable American poets, such as Frank Bidart and Yusef Komunyakaa, to the eclectic circle of writers on the North Shore of Massachusetts.
